How do you calculate your savings rate - Emigration Switzerland

The savings rate shows you what proportion of your income is saved after deducting all expenses. We base this on the gross salary, i.e. the total income before deductions. With our calculator, we automatically deduct social deductions such as AHV, IV, EO and ALV. We deduct an average of 12%. What remains is the net salary, i.e. the money that is available each month. Now we deduct the individual expenses and calculate the savings rate. If you would like an exact calculation, you can contact us at any time using the contact form and we will help you emigrate to Switzerland.

  • In Switzerland, emigrants with a B permit pay the so-called Withholding tax. It is deducted directly from your gross salary each month and paid to the tax authorities. The amount depends on income, marital status, children and place of residence. For income of CHF 120,000 or more or assets of CHF 80,000 or more, an ordinary tax assessment may also be necessary, i.e. you are obliged to submit your Swiss tax return every year. Our calculation is based on an average of 10% - you can determine your tax amount yourself in the budget calculator.
