How much does health insurance cost in Switzerland?

The calculation of your monthly health insurance contributions is based on factors such as your age, gender, the type of health insurance you have chosen and your Franchisethe health insurance model (e.g. telemedicine) and your place of residence. Rates are often higher in cities than in rural areas. The Basic insurance is compulsory, while supplementary insurance and hospitalisation insurance can be taken out voluntarily. The monthly health insurance costs are usually between CHF 100 and 200 for children, between CHF 150 and 300 for young people and between CHF 300 and 500 for adults.
